Cistem Failure / Ellen Koyote

CISTEMFAILURE: 
We are a travelling Anarchist feminist queer band. We are involved in different political projects/spaces/struggles and try to combine our words with our actions when we can.

We play rowdy political banjo folkpunk. We would like to see more non binary peeps, Transfolk, and female asociated people play music, make zines, take the space in male-dominated music scenes that we all deserve to be part of. 

On our lists of things to smash in 2015/2016:
Patriarchy, Heteronormativity, Prisons, speciesism, The State, Racist dutch Christmas, RWE, unrealistic Beautystandarts, Borders, Bad consent practices, Capitalism….
We cant do this alone though!

ELLEN KOYOTE:
Koyote writes serious and silly songs, stories and poems about life, love, death and the occasional, accidental encounters with dogshit that happen to the best of us.

S/he grew up exploring with her dog in the forest and among the reeds of the river, listening intently, sniffing for clues, humming shanties, psalms and the blues. S/he currently resides in the city, but is always on the lookout for nice trees and good spots to howl at the moon.

As a member of the Canis clan s/he comes from a long line of singers, but s/he is one of a select few in her family to have learnt to stand on her hind legs and play the guitar – no easy feat when you are born with paws and claws. S/he has released a few records and plans to make more, and to publish some of her stories and poetry. S/he enjoys good music, good company, and good hugs, and gets waggy when people sing along at her concerts.
